On 8 October 2020, the State Government announced $15 million in disability advocacy funding, over three years, as part of the Western Australia State Budget.

The $15 million election commitment specified a $5 million annual investment in independent and systemic disability advocacy services over a three-year period.

The community level outcome sought is “People with disability and those who share their lives, are engaged and feel empowered to live in a community where everyone belongs.”

The recommended procurement strategy is an open tender.
An open tender will enable all qualified and interested service providers especially those who are able to deliver advocacy services to Aboriginal people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people residing in rural and remote areas to submit a response.

Respondents can submit a response to provide independent and/or systemic advocacy.
It is anticipated that one or more service providers will be appointed to deliver the required services.

Respondents will be able to act individually or as part of a consortium (where there is a lead agency who the Department of Communities will award a service agreement to).

Service agreements are expected to commence on 1 July 2022.

No

Anticipated release date of this tender is Thursday 11 November 2021
