WA Country Health Services
Goldfields-Esperance Region

WA Country Health Service (WACHS) will soon be approaching the market to seek a panel of suppliers who can supply non-disposable hospital linen to all WACHS hospitals and healthcare facilities (excluding Bunbury Hospital). The resultant Head Agreement will allow all WACHS hospitals and healthcare facilities to purchase linen to replace existing products that are no longer suitable due to wear and tear and/or when current linen inventory is no longer sufficient to meet hospital demand. There will be an option to refresh the panel throughout the term of the Head Agreement.

All WACHS hospitals (excluding Bunbury Hospital) own linen and launder on-site (or through existing regional networks at hospitals with laundry facilities).

The linen required to be supplied for this tender includes, but is not limited to:

Patient Bedding;
Patient Towels;
Laundry bags;
Patient Attire (including pyjamas and gowns);

Nursery linen and attire (including baby clothing and cot bedding); and
Staff accommodation linen (bedding and towels) for visiting medical practitioners.
It is envisaged that disposable linen will not be required as the Whole of Health Contract is being progressed by Health Support Services for general clinical consumables that includes ‘disposable linen’ which is due to be awarded in late 2021.

This contract for non-disposable linen will require suppliers to:

comply with Australian and International Standards for providing linen to healthcare facilities; and
the supply logistics of providing regional delivery to each WACHS site for bulky orders of linen.
