Wind Power Arrives in Esperance

Renewable power blew into Esperance last week as Horizon Power’s wind turbines arrived at the Esperance Port.  The massive 74 metre long blades have been transported to Shark Lake where they will form part of the renewable energy precinct.

A Horizon Power representative said that there would be two wind turbines and 8900 solar panels that will combine to supply 46 per cent of Esperance’s energy requirements.  The Shark Lake Renewable Energy Precinct currently under construction is expected to be finished and in operation by next year.  The renewable energy precinct will support Horizon Powers new gas fired power station that is currently being built on Harbour Road.
