Shire of Esperance Adopts New 2021-22 Annual Budget

Council recently adopted our brand new 2021/22 Annual Budget during a Special Council Meeting on 3 August. This budget includes some great new projects for the local community. This year the Capital Works Program is the biggest (in the sheer volume of projects) the Shire has ever had, and will impact nearly everyone in our community.

Some of the amazing capital projects in this Annual Budget include:

$119,406 – Playground Replacement at Shoresands Estate
$59,702 – Replacement Gibson playground
$75,000 – Lost at Sea Memorial
$75,000 – Pet Cemetery
$300,000 – Dog Park at Wildcherry Park
$300,000 – Piggery Mountain Bike Cross Country Track and Jumps Line Stage 1
$300,000 – Youth Precinct and Boat Ramp toilet
$300,000 – Upgrades to the Civic Centre – disability access and toilets
$221,876 – CCTV Stage 3 and additional cameras in the town centre
$300,000 – Two town entry statements
$1,192,050 – Building Maintenance Program
$17,458,758 – Road upgrades and improvements (including $1.4m from the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Fund towards Cascade Road)
