Melanie NG – Baseline Counselling

Melanie is an empathetic and solutions focused Counsellor who has worked in the disability sector respectively for the past 7 years. Melanie loves working on self-development and awareness, relationships and family dynamics. Specialising in these areas as she has often naturally gravitated towards relationships, family and personal growth when working with individuals who face unique barriers to achieving certain goals. Melanie started her career as an Early Intervention Behavioural Therapist and will never forget all the wonderful things these amazing children (and their families) taught her about patience, perseverance, strength, and communication. Since then, Melanie has worked in the Disability Employment Services sector and coordinated the Shared Management program, similar to today’s NDIS Plan Management model, this transitioned into NDIS Support Coordination. Support Coordination is what led Melanie towards Counselling, as she was working with families that had no connections that focused on supporting parents/carers or families who had with children with disabilities.  Melanie has the following qualifications: Bachelor of Arts: Psychology and Counselling (Edith Cowan University) Graduate Diploma in Human Resources (Curtin University) Psychology at Work (University of Western Australia – via coursera) And undertaken the following courses: Understanding Restrictive Practices in WA (2022) Basic Auslan Intermediate Auslan
