Local Government Election – Shire of Esperance
Local government elections are a great way to be involved in your local community, and are held on the third Saturday in October every two years. This year the Local Government Elections for the Shire of Esperance will be held on Saturday, 16 October 2021 and will be conducted by Postal Vote.
To make sure you’re able to vote in the Local Government election changes to your enrolment details, such as your address, must be made by 27 August. To check your enrolment details are current click here. Changes to your enrolment can be made online through the WAEC website.
If you own property in Esperance but are enrolled on the State Electoral Roll in another Local Government District, you can still vote in our elections by applying to be included on our Owners and Occupiers Roll. If you own property in both the Town and Rural Wards in the Esperance district you can have two votes, one for each Ward. Simply make sure you are included on our Owners and Occupiers Roll to vote in both Wards.
To apply for inclusion on the Shire’s Owners and Occupiers Roll you will need to return a completed “Form 2” to the Shire’s Rates Officers prior to close of electoral rolls on 27 August 2021. This form can be found here.
