The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s Summer Roads Renewal Program to Commence
The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is commencing its Summer Roads Renewal Program throughout the months January & February 2022. A few days before the works start, contractors will deliver a notice to your mailbox, once received please ensure the following:
- cars are not parked near the road or close to the kerbs
- keep to the speed limits indicated for the safety of our works crew (40 km per hour)
- communicate with the contractors if you require access (maximum access disruption at any one time is 30 minutes)
This project has been funded by the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, the State Government’s Regional Road Group funding and the Federal Government’s Federal Assistance Grant Funding.
The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder has been delivering the roads renewal program for the 2021/22 FY in conjunction with Total Asphalt, and will now be targeting residential areas for the months of January and February. The total budget for the 21/22 financial year is $19.2 million with a focus on sealed and unsealed road across the City – with the aim to sustain and improve the condition of existing surfaced roads, laneways and parking areas.
The purpose of the Summer Roads Renewal Program is to improve the condition of residential and some local collector roads across the City, addressing key areas that have undergone a roads condition report process – with roads resurfacing works completed according to their condition. The cost of this program is approximately $3 million.
