Regional Roads to benefit from $12m Federal Funds – By Jason Mennell

Projects and roads in the Goldfields-Esperance region are in line for more than $12 million from the Federal Government from January next year.  Announced this week as part of a broader $1 billion budget stimulus packages, the cash is double the $6m announced for the region from the same program at the same time last year.

In the third phase of the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, Kalgoorlie-Boulder will get $2.1, Esperance $3.7m, Menzies $1.1m, Laverton $1.1m, Ravensthorpe $1m, Ngaanyatjarraku $906,00, Leonora $881,000, Coolgardie $728,000 and Dundas $576,000.  Local governments will be able to access the cash from 1 January 2022, with projects to be completed by the end of the 2022-23 financial year to allow time for planning and construction on the projects.
